Information for exhibitors

For the first time, the 2020 Wollongong Makers Market will be held over an entire weekend, on 28 and 29 November 2020, from 8:30 am to 3 pm, at the Illawarra Sports Stadium in Berkeley.

This market is timed to reach Christmas shoppers and will encourage customers to buy handmade and locally produced goods.

If you draw, paint, knit, sculpt, sew, work with clay or silver, turn word or beat iron, we would love to have you sign up to our market and showcase your wares.

We're also inviting local art educators to come along and promote their classes and workshops for adults and children.

The event will be COVID-safe, with a contact tracing station at the entrance, hand sanitiser available and extra-wide aisles to allow for plenty of space between stalls. We will keep informed of the latest guidelines and make changes as required leading up to the event.

We have limited stall spaces available, and spots are expected to fill up early, so apply now. Once your application has been accepted, we'll share the news on social media to help promote your work.

Promotion + advertising

We have banners going up around the Illawarra to promote the market, along with our Facebook and Instagram pages, media releases and postcards placed in cafes, libraries and tourist information centres. Please let us know if you would like some of these postcards to distribute to your contacts.

Bump-in details

All arts and crafts stalls will be inside the stadium, and can set up the day before the market. Further information will be sent directly to accepted exhibitors.

Food stalls located outside the building will need to set up on Saturday morning.

As the hall is used for netball and other sports, we need to be mindful of protecting the timber floor. We cannot allow tents or gazebos, and we'll have carpet tiles on hand to be placed under anything too heavy or abrasive. Stiletto heels cannot be worn in the stadium.
