The Wollongong Makers Market will return in May 2019, at the UOW Innovation Campus, Squires Way, North Wollongong.
This market is timed to reach Mother's Day shoppers and will encourage customers to buy handmade and locally produced goods.
If you draw, paint, knit, sculpt, sew, work with clay or silver, turn word or beat iron, we would love to have you sign up to our May market and showcase your wares.
The market is held on the outside forecourt of the Central Building (the first building on the left) and meanders through the foyer and upstairs into the beautiful, expansive function room.
In December we had around 80 stall holders, including food and coffee vendors, and in May we anticipate even more.
We are also inviting local art educators to come along and promote their classes and workshops for adults and children.
The market will feature the threatened species displays once again to raise awareness about the plight of our endangered native animals in the Illawarra and to raise valuable funds for the animal carers.
Stallholder applications for the market in May will open in 2019. If you would like us to let you know when they are open please contact us and we'll add you to our mailing list.
Market details
The market commences at 8:30 am with pack up at 4 pm.
Promotion + advertising
We have seven banners going up around Wollongong to promote the market, along with our Facebook page, media releases and postcards placed in cafes and tourist information centres etc. Please let us know if you would like some of these postcards to distribute to your contacts.
Bump-in details
Stalls which have an inside position can set up the day before the market, from 1 to 4 pm. Your stall position will be available from staff on arrival.
Stalls located outside the building will need to set up on Saturday morning.
The main body of artisan stalls is located in the function room upstairs. There are two lifts to this room. If you have heavy goods there will be one trolley for your use, otherwise we recommend you bring your own.
All goods in the function room are secure overnight as this room is locked. The foyer area is not locked so we recommend if you are located in this area you set up without stock, i.e. only tables, screens, props etc.
On arrival, please park in the loading area outside the Central Building. Unload your goods onto the footpath and then park in a carpark before setting up your displays.
Please contact us for more information.
